About the Program

Camden Catholic Crew is a varsity men’s and women’s rowing team that rows on the Cooper River everyday in the afternoon from early March until late May.  As an associate member of the Philadelphia Scholastic River Association, Irish Crew competes in weekly regattas against teams from the tri-state area as well as other team from as far away as New York , Chicago , and Florida .  The team also races during the autumn and trains indoors during the winter freeze.

On race day, the squad comprises about fifty students from the high school and races a distance of 1500 meters.  Among the competitions on their schedule are the New Jersey State Championships, the Philadelphia City Championships, the Stotesbury Regatta, and the Scholastic National Championships.

Thanks to the generous support of parents and the community, the team boasts a fleet of four eight-oared and two four-oared shells.  The students row out of the Camden County Boathouse, a brand-new facility in Pennsauken , less than a five minute drive from the high school’s Cherry Hill Campus.
